4 Reasons Why Wickie Wackie Music Festival Wins

It’s a Wickie Wackie World

Wickie Wackie Music Festival is the hottest event in Jamaica this Christmas season and YOU need to be there! On Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2015, our Touch The Road team joins reggae band Raging Fyah in the staging of #WWMFJA2015 —Jamaica’s first two-day beach reggae festival— complete with camping, tours and a host of other exciting things we’ll get into later. It will see scores of wanderlusters, music lovers and Jamaica fans (do you hear your name yet?) converging on the beautiful Wickie Wackie Beach in Bull Bay, St Thomas, for a spectacular display of sound system, holistic livity and reggae culture.

The event formerly known as Wickie Wackie Live —Raging Fyah’s monthly-turned-annual benefit concert — is now in its sixth year, so we’re celebrating the milestone by showcasing some of our best local and international talents.

It promises to be a true, high calibre festival experience, showing the world all the positives about our amazing island while we continue to spread the enlightening messages reggae music is known for. There’s a strong environmental component, too, as part proceeds will help with ecotourism and community development in St Thomas.

#2 Sound System vibes…

Like you’ve never experienced before — for those of you who don’t know, Wickie Wackie Beach is the home of Uncle Ronnie, sound system builder/ tuner extraordinaire. If you’ve ever been to dub culture pioneer Gabre Selassie’s Kingston Dub Club (or subscribe to the live stream) you are one of many who can attest to the quality of his work. Speaking of which, Rockers Sound Station (Gabre Selassie), Rory Black Dub (formally of Stone Love) and Roots Revival outta Poland are three of the best sound systems/selectors you’ve ever heard… and they will all be there, plus more.

#3 It’s a family affair

Plan for the camping or get a little cozier, try our special travel package and get the best Kingston & St Thomas experience tour ever, plus your tickets for the shows.
